Delete your RentalLeak account
You can request deletion of your RentalLeak account and its data from inside the app. This page explains where to find it, what is removed, and how long it takes.
Request it in the app
Open RentalLeak on the web, iOS, or Android and go to Account. Scroll to the account-management section at the bottom of that screen. You will see one or both of:
- “Request deletion of my user account” — available to any team member. This removes your personal sign-in and profile only. It does not remove a teammate and it does not delete the company or its rentals.
- “Delete Company & All Data” — available to a company owner. This removes the entire company: every rental, all history, every uploaded document, and every teammate’s access. It asks the owner to type the company name to confirm.
Choosing either option files a request — nothing is deleted at that moment.
What happens after you request
- The request starts a 30-day grace period. During that time you can cancel it from the same screen (“Cancel deletion request”), and your access is unchanged.
- After the 30-day grace period, RentalLeak processes the request automatically. Processing runs on a regular schedule shortly after the grace period ends — it is not tied to an exact moment, and it does not depend on anyone at RentalLeak remembering to act.
- For an account deletion, your sign-in and personal profile are removed and your name is removed from the company’s shared history. The company and its rentals are kept.
- For a company deletion, any paid subscription is cancelled first, then the company’s uploaded files are deleted, then the company’s account, rentals, rental history, vendors, projects, locations, invitations and invoices — and the sign-in accounts of its members — are deleted.
- Shared history and audit records may keep an internal reference that no longer identifies a person once the account is removed.
- Backups follow their own retention cycle and then expire, so a recent backup copy is removed as that cycle completes.
- Some records may be retained where reasonably required for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes. These are not used for any other purpose.
If you are the only owner
A company’s sole active owner cannot delete just their own personal account, because that would leave the company with no owner. To proceed, first make another member an owner (Account → Team), or use “Delete Company & All Data” to remove the whole company.
Subscriptions
A company deletion cancels any paid subscription automatically as part of processing, so no further invoice is raised. You can also cancel it yourself from your RentalLeak web account first if you prefer. RentalLeak does not store your card number — payment details live only with our payment processor.
Can’t sign in?
If you cannot access the app to make the request, email [email protected] from the address on the account and we will process it for you. We may ask a question or two to confirm you own the account.
